The global sanitization equipment device market is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 20.3% from 2020 to 2027 and expected to reach the market value of around US$ 28.4 Bn by 2027.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has fuelled the demand for surface cleaning, sanitization services, and supplies to protect communities from infection. With the surge in demand for wellness and health products coupled with rising rate of diseases has bolster the demand for sanitization equipment devices market worldwide. Additionally, rising awareness regarding hygiene spur the demand for sanitization equipment devices market.

Market Dynamics

Innovation in disinfection & sanitization solutions upsurge the demand for sanitization equipment devices market

National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF) an autonomous body of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has recently supported two innovative disinfection solutions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A Vehicle Disinfectant Bay and a Foot-operated Height Adjustable Hands-Free Sanitizer Dispenser Stand are the two recently supported innovations under the campaign. The Vehicle Disinfectant Bay is a device that disinfects vehicles automatically, by reducing time and energy with completion the disinfection process by a vehicle in a very short time. The equipment comprises of frame, tank, motor, MCB Board, AGROnet, nozzles, valves, pipes, and fittings and works on the principle of spraying disinfectant liquid by using an AC motor technology for operation. Additionally, foot-operated Height Adjustable Hands-Free Sanitizer Dispenser Stand is an ideal ubiquitous hygiene solution for residential, commercial, and industrial applications wherein one simply needs to press with the foot a pedal and the sanitizer will be dispensed.

COVID-19 impact on sanitization equipment devices market

As sterilization and disinfectants are vital components for infection control, sanitization equipment devices has grabbed significant attention in the global market. The sterilization equipment devices are currently booming owing to the best suited response for COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, new product development by the prominent players during the pandemic has spurred the demand for sanitization equipment devices market. According to UnLtd India, PadCare Labs founded in 2018, developed two new devices called UVSAN and UV Handy. PadCare two sanitization systems are currently being used by 4 hospitals in India. These two products are specialized such that it only requires electricity to run and have a life of 10,000 hours. The UVSAN is an area sanitizer that is used to disinfect closed spaces such as ambulances, hospital rooms, closets, and protective gear such as PPE kits and N95 masks as per the guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Moreover, the UVHandy is a portable hand-held decontamination device specialized such that that can disinfect inanimate objects such as tables, chairs, boxes in only 10 seconds. Such product innovations are the factors that bolster the demand for sanitization equipment devices market globally. On the other hand, on August 2020, under the series of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, DRDO lab announced launching of new product namely, NOTESCLEAN. Hyderabad based, Defense Research and Development Organization, DRDO lab has developed innovative product where one just has to place the loose currency notes at the input slot of the device. It picks the notes one by one and makes them pass through a series of UVC lamps for complete disinfection.

Rising government involvement bolster the demand for sanitization equipment devices market

According to the estimates by the National Investment Promotion & Facilitation Agency, large pool of startup solution is engaged by the Government of India in response to COVID-19 for large area sanitization and sterilization. Pavani Katuboyina is one such startup company that received approval by the Government of India for a disinfectant robot. The product is a combination of UV light technology on a mobile robot with intensity meter to disinfect large areas so that humans are not near to the light or virus. Moreover, vigyanprasar in collaboration with the researchers developed tractor-mounted sanitizing devices. Health authorities strongly recommended sanitization as one of the preliminary measures to contain the outbreak of corona virus. The Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), one of the institutions under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has developed a tractor-mounted sanitizing system to carry out the sanitization work on roads to fight the novel corona virus. The road sanitizer has a span of 16 feet that uses 15 to 35 bars of pressure to ensure effective delivery of the sanitizer. Twelve nozzles are used to ensure optimum radial coverage of sanitizer. The system utilizes a 2000 to 5000 liters tank with a pump, which can spray about 22 liters of sanitizer per minute.
