Introduction
Phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFCs) are the first economical fuel cells appropriate for stationary applications. PAFCs catalyst is formed by using platinum and uses liquefied phosphoric acid as electrolyte. These fuel cells are 40% to 50% effective and proficiency can be improved. The usual life cycles of PAFCs are around 40,000hr to 65,000hr. It can function by using renewable energy, variety of fuels and fossil fuels. They are considered as the most mature fuel cell categories and first group of modern fuel cells.
